BREAKING NEWS | WIS maintenance contract extended by NPG Cable, Inc.

In June of 2007, NPG contracted with WIS to survey, engineer, license, and install a turnkey microwave system from Bishop, CA to Mammoth Lakes, CA. This project included complete turnkey site development of 3 sites including Casa Diablo, which is a remote, limited access site with no utilities. WIS was tasked with obtaining zoning and permitting approvals, FCC licensing, and complete system acceptance before the winter weather hit the Eastern Sierras. The system was turned up and accepted in November of 2007, just 5 months after the contract was executed. This endeavor was key to NPG meeting the data needs of the Mammoth Lakes community. WIS and NPG worked together to obtain City, County, and US Forest Service permits. WIS designed and installed a complex and custom solar/generator hybrid power system and used specialized construction practices. Included in the original contract was a 1 year maintenance and technical support service period offered to NPG due to the uniqueness of the system. The system operated through tough conditions and NPG has been providing reliable data services to their customers since November of 2007. In November of 2008, NPG awarded WIS a contract extension for maintenance, technical support, and emergency call out services.
