BREAKING NEWS | WIS deploys Turnkey Harris microwave system for KGMB

WIS was contracted by KGMB to survey, design, license, provide, install, and integrate a new 2 hop digital duplex STL/TSL microwave system which will provide transport for their DTV programming to their new transmit site at Palehua as well as video backhaul from the midpoint site Century square for their ENG receive and camera video. This system will also provide full control, alarming, and monitoring for all sites and systems. WIS chose the Harris TRuepoint radio for this multifunction microwave system. The engineering design included window loss testing at Century Square for the indoor antenna placement requirements and RSL’s were right on the money. Custom compression type mounts were also designed and deployed at this location as no floor/roof penetrations were allowed. The system was deployed and tested in 1 week after all the typical Hawaiian logistics were worked out. WIS will be completing the stations 2 GHz relocation project and DTV system relocation in January of 2009, including full systems testing and integration through this newly deployed microwave system.
