BREAKING NEWS | WIS Completes Structural Upgrade on US Border Patrol Tower in Calexico, CA

WIS was contracted by IVECA (Imperial Valley Emergency Communications Authority) to design two (2) new microwave links into this Border Patrol facility located in Calexico, CA. Once the designs were finalized, WIS completed a tower audit and performed a structural analysis of the tower to include the proposed new antenna systems. Upon review of the structural analysis, it was determined that the tower failed structural based on TIA-222-Rev G standards and using the classification for “essential facilities”. WIS was then engaged to design a structural upgrade and upgrade the tower to meet TIA-222-Rev G specifications. WIS designed, procured, fabricated and installed new tower steel to accomplish this scope. The microwave system will be deployed before 2009 to complete the turnkey endeavor. WIS would like to thank the US Border Patrol, IVECA, San Diego County Sheriff (RCS), and the County of Imperial for their support throughout this project.
