Earth Day is now widely celebrated around the world as a collective expression of public will to create a sustainable society. To celebrate, contribute and support the "go green" movement, WIS launches its corporate Go Green Program on Earth Day. This program incorporates green initiatives, sustainable business practices, and educational programs to the company’s core operating principles to promote quality of life within the community and put forth notable efforts to reduce the company’s environmental footprint and improve its impact on the planet.

Highlights of the WIS Go Green Program include:

RECYCLE: Recycling Program (paper, cans, bottles, wood, and metals).
GREEN PRODUCTS: Utilize of environmentally friendly products (recycled paper, green cleaning products, replace bulbs with compact fluorescent lighting – CFLs).
ECO-LITERACY: Educate employees on energy/water consumption, minimizing environmental footprint, and ways to ‘go green’ both at work and at home. Provide environmental orientation and ‘go green’ tip of the week incorporated in the weekly company meeting.
DIGITIZE: Keep files on computers and review/share documents onscreen/online to minimize paper use.
ENERGY: Office computers and equipment are set to energy-saving settlings and purchase of energy-saving equipment and lighting when available.
TRANSPORTATION: Fuel efficiency program designed to educate employees on vehicle energy use, maintenance, and ways to reduce fuel consumption and improve vehicle and fuel efficiency.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE PLAN: Establish minimum requirements applicable to all projects regardless of geographical location to minimize environmental impacts to project site and its surroundings during and after the project.

WIS believes the most important step in the implementation of the company’s Go Green Program is employee education. Providing its staff with the knowledge, methods, and resources to live greener make it easier to spread the word and take action in becoming more environmentally responsible both in the workplace and at home.

The WIS Go Green Program is designed to support its commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace, expanding sustainable communities, and protecting the environment, natural resources, and local communities that could be affected by project development.
