BREAKING NEWS | WIS Deploys First LTE Antenna System for Verizon Wireless

As operators move towards LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology, WIS is right in the mix. Engaged as one of Verizon Wireless’ select contractors, WIS has just completed its first LTE antenna system in downtown Los Angeles. The aggressive project not only entails new 700 MHz LTE system installations, but in some cases, complete overhauls of the existing antenna system infrastructure. WIS crews are experienced with PPC connector installation and PIM testing, which are required by Verizon Wireless for their LTE network. These new requirements are expected to be adopted by other operators soon and WIS is primed and ready to support these needs. Along with antenna system upgrades, WIS is actively involved in capacity upgrades via fiber facilities and microwave systems. Operators are already scrambling to increase capacity and WIS crews are heavily engaged with a number of operators with services ranging from audits, feasibility studies, microwave engineering and installation, outside plant construction, site preps for fiber, and Ethernet infrastructure upgrades.
