BREAKING NEWS | LA Market Broadcasters Cutover to New BAS Band-Plan with WIS' Assistance

WIS has been engaged with the BAS relocation project for over 3 years providing management, installation, integration, and testing services to broadcasters across the country. While broadcasters supported by WIS have successfully transitioned in a number of major markets, the LA market transition was a tremendous accomplishment. WIS provided services to stations in all 4 affected regions (Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, and San Diego), collectively transitioned as the “LA market”. WIS staff participated in training and testing prior to the market cutover in support of our clients and while on call during the cutover weekend, WIS crews were not needed by a single broadcaster during the cutover as each were positioned perfectly through careful planning, quality installations, training, and a little bit of “out of the box” thinking by WIS engineers. Successful execution of this magnitude does not happen by accident, nor does it happen without support from all those involved.
WIS has been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to support the following stations during this effort- KCBS, KCAL, KEYT, KESQ, KPSP, KFMB, KGTV, KSWB, and KUSI. Additionally we would like to thank the Sprint team, NSI, Radiowaves, Nucomm, MRC, Troll, Talley, Moseley, and all of our vendors and suppliers who supported WIS during this project.
With the LA market successfully cutover, WIS crews have dispersed to other regions in support of our clients and the next market cutover. Upcoming markets to be transitioned with the support of WIS include Hawaii, New Mexico, Oregon, Northern CA, and Montana.
