BREAKING NEWS | KFMB system relocation effort complete at San Miguel

WIS was engaged by KFMB TV to relocate their existing microwave, UHF, ENG, and 2 way repeater system to the recently completed, state of the art facility owned by Price Troncone and associates on San Miguel Mtn. The project entailed designing, fabricating, and installing a new custom ENG mount at the top of the tower, including structural analysis of the tower. A two hop 900 MHz microwave repeater system with new mounts and cabling were deployed to feed KFMB’s AM transmitter in Santee, CA. The 13 GHz digital microwave link used to transport ENG video back to the KFMB studios was installed with new a mount, ew127 waveguide, stiff arms, and hardware. Two way repeaters and UHF/VHF antennas were located on a new tapered boom arm mount with new coax, hardware, and connectors. KFMB provided a new custom Rf shielded equipment cabinet to house the relocated electronics and all systems were tested and integrated with WIS crews and the support of KFMB.
The Price Troncone facility was designed with security, quality, safety, and ease of installation in mind for their tenants. These factors add up to cost savings on the initial installation as well as maintenance. Electrical systems, cable tray supports, ice bridge, Telco, grounding, entry ports, and tower supports are already in place at this facility, making any new installation simple and clean.
San Miguel is a prime communications hub that houses numerous public safety, broadcast, microwave repeater, 2 way, paging, cable, and wireless systems serving greater San Diego County and surrounding areas.
