the 27th Annual Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation Christmas Celebration

WIS is proud to be a part of the 27th annual Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of the Inland Empire Christmas Celebration held on December 7, 2008 at the Grayson Center in Loma Linda, CA. WIS’ donation helped purchase decorations, food, crafts, entertainment, and gifts for the 400+ children and their families who participated in the event. In addition, WIS is pleased to contribute to the event’s success by having its staff and their families volunteer their time and services during the event.
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of the Inland Empire is a chapter of an international non-profit organization of parents and friends who have, or have had, children with cancer. The foundation is committed to supporting the families emotionally so that they feel less isolated, frustrated and fearful in dealing with the problems that cancer can manifest within the family structure.
The annual Christmas Celebration provides the families with an opportunity to share their Christmas holiday with hundreds of other families who have or have had a child with cancer. During the 4-hour event, gifts, entertainment, arts & crafts and food are provided to the children and their families. Candlelighters and their many supporters host this yearly Christmas party for over 600 participants. There are over 150 volunteers that work hard to wrap hundreds of presents, serve food, and turn the gym into a holiday delight with wall, balloons and table decorations and WIS is both proud and honored to have been a part of this event as a way of “paying it forward” this holiday season.
