Our survey reports are designed around all applicable elements of a microwave system: site access, safety concerns, power availability and routing, rack/floor space, mounting requirements, future obstruction concerns like tree growth or commercial development, environmental concerns/requirements, grounding, coax/waveguide routing, supports, and protection, security, and many other site specific considerations are made and noted on each and every survey. We provide comprehensive reports that can be used for budgeting, licensing, structural engineering, material procurement, RFQ's, and future planning. Site photos depicting proposed equipment locations are standard along with a photo log of the flash, balloon, light, or bucket truck and all other site details.
All survey projects whether an emergency TEMP hop or a 50+ hop backbone system are assigned a project manager, project coordinator, microwave engineer, and crew of experienced tower techs. WIS uses a wide range of tools and knowledge to execute each survey. Certified tower climbers are deployed to climb and flash from existing towers/rooftops, certified bucket truck and manlift operators are deployed to sites that are not accessible by climbers or do not exist yet. Differential GPS, drop tapes, compasses, maps, flash mirrors, high powered-million candlelight spotlights, cameras, laptops with terrain databases, network maps, safety/rescue equipment, and 4x4 trucks are all standard equipment deployed with each crew.
Dedicated and efficient coordination is critical to keeping expenses down when deploying these types of resources and WIS excels in this area, maintaining access and relationships with most tower/site owners, carriers, utility companies, and broadcasters on the West Coast.
