Tower Technicians
A Tower/Field Technician works under close and direct supervision of the Field Supervisor and Crew Lead. A Tower/Field Technician assists with the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of antenna systems, communication towers and support structures.
Tower/Field Technicians work irregular hours, work under hazardous conditions, and regularly work under adverse conditions (e.g., working heights of 500 ft. plus, inclement weather, remote sites, etc.) in the performance of the job. Tower/Field Technicians work throughout Southern California, may be required to travel out of state, and must be willing to travel overnight on an as needed basis.
Essential Functions
- Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; performs tower maintenance
- Must have the physical ability and the willingness to work above ground at excessive heights on towers, rooftops, and equipment such as bucket trucks and/or man lifts
- Effectively utilizes of available resources, technology, and tools to complete work
- Complies with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements
- Installs tower foundations and erects towers using construction and rigging equipment
- May fabricate metal support brackets and support structures
- Maintains clean, safe and orderly environment, and adheres to all Company and industry (i.e., OSHA) standards/regulations
- Efficiently prioritizes and performs job requirements and activities based on open communication with the lead or manager

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Candidates must be able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English, as well as possess good oral communication skills
- Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- Comfortable working above ground while utilizing proper safety equipment
- Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized with a strong attention to detail
- Self-starter, team player, results oriented
- 1+ year(s) general construction, electrical, technical, or mechanical experience preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
Typical Working Conditions
99% of work is performed outside on job sites with exposure to hazardous conditions and adverse conditions (e.g. working heights of 500 ft. plus, inclement weather, remote sites, etc.). May be required to work irregular, late, or long hours and drive/travel long distances. Occasional overnight travel may also be required.
Equipment Used
Hand and power tools, test equipment (cathead, wiltron, etc.), ladders, etc.
Upon certification any or all of the following may be utilized: climbing, rigging, bucket truck, manlift, forklift
Essential Physical Tasks
Position requires dexterity, good vision, and involves demanding physical activity and exertion required for rigging, tower climbing, carrying various tools, equipment and materials up to 75 pounds and performing other construction duties.
