Safety Resources Manager
The Safety Resources Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, management, and enforcement of the Company's safety, illness and injury prevention, and emergency preparedness programs to ensure compliance with both company safety requirements and all applicable safety laws and regulations. The Safety Resources Manager is responsible for ALL safety-related functions which will include monitoring and facilitating the maintenance of all company vehicles and their respective tools, equipment and safety supplies to ascertain each vehicle is safe to drive, road-worthy, and equipped with all necessary tools to perform work safely and efficiently.
The Safety Resources Manager will work 50% on site, and 50% in the office.
The Safety Resources Manager must have previous industry experience (broadcast, microwave, wireless, construction, or general tower related work) and a strong knowledge of and proven experience in federal, state, and industry safety requirements and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with management to develop, define, implement, maintain, manage and enforce safety policies, programs and procedures
- Successfully complete various safety training programs and obtain required certifications
- Prepare and conduct weekly safety meetings
- Conduct and/or coordinate safety and industry training for employees as needed
- Develop relationship and serve as liaison with NATE, OSHA and other regulatory agencies and organizations and perform all required functions to ensure compliance with reporting and record-keeping requirements
- Monitor and maintain company property to ensure all tools, equipment and vehicles are in safe, good working order
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships to secure discounts and ensure cost effectiveness

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills

- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and priorities and work as a member of a high performance team
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical documents
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license
- 4 years of safety work experience with OSHA experience and certification
- Experience in the telecommunications field required
- Climbing certification highly preferred
Typical Working Conditions
Up to 50% of work is performed outside on job sites with exposure to hazardous conditions and adverse conditions (e.g. inclement weather, remote sites, etc.). May be required to work irregular, late, or long hours and drive/travel long distances. Occasional overnight travel may also be required.
Equipment Used
Computer keyboard, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, standard office supplies (stapler, hole puncher, etc.)
Hand and power tools, test equipment (cathead, wiltron, etc.), ladders, etc.
Upon certification any or all of the following may be utilized: climbing, rigging, bucket truck, manlift, forklift
Essential Physical Tasks
Position requires dexterity, good vision, and involves demanding physical activity and exertion required for rigging, tower climbing, carrying various tools, equipment and materials up to 75 pounds and performing other construction duties.
