Field Supervisor
The Field Supervisor ("FS") provides effective and consistent supervision and management of crews, projects scope, and on site activities to support project and client requirements while delivering the project with the company's standard quality, safety and schedule commitments. The FS serves as an on-site liaison between the field crew, clients / contractors on site, and internal operations staff. In addition, the FS is responsible for staff training and the implementation and enforcement of all policies, procedures and safety and health regulations.
Field Supervisors must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience (broadcast, microwave, wireless, construction or general tower related work) and must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws
Essential Functions
- Perform administrative and supervisory work necessary to facilitate and supervise all field personnel and onsite activity including, but not limited to surveys, climbing, installation, fabrication and construction work.
- Represent company to subcontractors, clients, and outside groups on the job site.
- Provide for the safety and security of crew, equipment, and site: Assess hazards and plan / direct work accordingly.
- Observe, report, investigate, and correct unsafe working conditions or behaviors.
- Upon arriving at the job site: assess the site hazards, conduct safety meeting, implement emergency medical services plan, go over SOW with crew, lay out work schedule, and assign tasks to appropriate individuals.
- Issue oral or written instructions to direct crew and subcontractor work plans onsite and examine work for conformance to policies and procedures and project scope specifications.
- Manage crew and exercise control over rate of work progress and all other aspects of the job throughout the day to meet established timeframe for completion and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with techs, PCs and PMs and manage and supervise assigned operations to achieve goals.
- Monitor and ensure cleanliness and professional appearance of all crew members, job sites, company vehicles, etc.
- Possess a working knowledge of, and enforce all policies and procedures, regulations and safety and health standards.
- Maintain timely and accurate job site documentation (daily project updates, JSA, review, verify, and sign crew timesheets).
- Supervise and train field personnel in all aspects of respective job functions, company standards and protocol, safety rules and requirements and all policies and procedures.
- Recruit, interview, and make hiring recommendations for field technicians as business needs arise.
- Observe and address personnel and operational issues, counsel employees and administer disciplinary action when appropriate. Complete formal employee performance evaluations.
- Evaluate employee performance on a daily basis for purposes of providing recommendations concerning hiring, firing, advancement, or promotion when appropriate.
- Attend job walks, analyze and interpret project requirements, prepare reports and bill of materials and work with PM to determine material purchasing, establish subcontractor needs, project scheduling, and crew assignments.
- Attend management meetings and participate in the planning, development and implementation of new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of materials and labor.
- Attend tradeshows, appropriate training opportunities, sales/client meetings, and Company events.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities detailed in all applicable Company policies, procedures and work flowcharts.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 yrs. industry experience (broadcast, microwave, wireless, construction or general tower related work) required
- Valid driver's license
- Good physical condition and stamina, comfortable with heights
- Must be computer literate and proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Streets and Trips
- Attention to detail, strong leadership, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills required
